Early Childhood Educators’ Day 2025: Celebrating the dedication of Australia’s early learning workforce

Today, Australian families pause to celebrate the extraordinary contribution of early childhood educators on Early Childhood Educators’ Day.
Across more than 7,000 early learning services nationwide, educators are being recognised for the vital role they play in nurturing, teaching and supporting children in their earliest years.
Australian Childcare Alliance (ACA) President Paul Mondo said the day is an important recognition of the thousands of hard-working educators, who bring dedication and patience to their work every day.
“Our educators are the heart of early learning,” Mr Mondo said.
“There are thousands of educators who are deeply committed to the children in their care and work hard every day to provide supportive and inspiring environments where children can grow, learn and thrive.”
Early Childhood Educators’ Day is an opportunity for families, communities and governments to come together and show appreciation. From handmade cards and morning teas to messages of support, thousands of services will mark the occasion with their children and families.
Mr Mondo said that while governments continue to strengthen safety measures and reform the system, it is important to recognise the overwhelming majority of educators who demonstrate care and professionalism each day.
“Recent events that have impacted the whole sector are rightfully being addressed in major safety overhauls. For those working in the sector who feel the impact deeply, their dedication to children and families has never wavered — and today we say thank you.”
“Parents entrust us with their most precious responsibility, and educators take that responsibility seriously. Today is about celebrating the people who dedicate their careers to giving children the very best start in life.”
About Early Childhood Educators’ Day
