ACECQA updates workforce strategy dashboard, highlighting progress across ECEC sector

The Australian Children’s Education and Care Quality Authority (ACECQA) has released an update to its National Children’s Education and Care Workforce Strategy dashboard, providing a clear snapshot of progress toward building a sustainable and high-quality early childhood education and care (ECEC) workforce.
The 10-year strategy, Shaping Our Future, sets out 21 national actions designed to strengthen workforce sustainability across six key focus areas:
- professional recognition
- attraction and retention
- leadership and capability
- wellbeing
- qualifications and career pathways
- data and evidence
The updated dashboard reports that 14 of the 21 national actions have been completed, with a further six on track for delivery. One action remains under consideration.
In addition to monitoring progress on the 21 actions, the dashboard also tracks complementary initiatives supporting the six focus areas, as well as overarching evaluation indicators to measure long-term impact. This data helps stakeholders understand how efforts at both national and local levels are contributing to improved workforce outcomes.
For the ECEC sector, the strategy aims to ensure a skilled, stable and well-supported workforce that can deliver high-quality education and care for children and families across Australia.
The updated workforce strategy dashboard is available on ACECQA’s website and provides valuable insights for service providers, educators, and policymakers committed to shaping a strong future for the sector.
