ECEC educators gain access to free, doctor-endorsed nutrition resources

Doctors For Nutrition (DFN), a health promotion charity founded by Australian medical professionals, has announced a partnership with international nonprofit the Educated Choices Program (ECP) to advance nutrition education across school and community settings.
DFN has formally endorsed two of ECP’s most widely used educational resources:
- Healthful Eating
- Eat for Your Health
They have been designed to promote healthier food choices through evidence-based learning. These resources are freely available via ECP’s digital library and include videos, lesson plans, and guided discussion prompts.
Healthful Eating supports students and adults to explore the fundamentals of nutrition and how dietary patterns can prevent chronic disease and improve wellbeing.
Eat for Your Health developed for younger learners, introduces core food groups and nutrients, and helps children build skills in creating balanced meals.
The endorsement highlights DFN’s commitment to improving public health through whole food, plant-based diets, aligning with its broader work to prevent and reverse chronic illness. The educational packages reflect international curriculum standards and are already being delivered in thousands of schools and community programs globally.
In addition to endorsing ECP’s existing resources, DFN and ECP will co-develop a new educational video on cardiovascular disease prevention, to be launched later in 2025. The video will present nutrition as a tool for preventing and in some cases reversing cardiovascular disease, which remains the world’s leading cause of death from noncommunicable disease.
The new content will integrate DFN’s clinical expertise with ECP’s accessible education format and draw from up-to-date research from peak health bodies. It will also feature recipes developed by accredited dietitians and support materials for use in educational and community contexts.
DFN CEO Rebecca Stonor said the partnership aligned with both organisations’ mission to empower people through nutrition education.
“Doctors For Nutrition is honoured to partner with the Educated Choices Program,” Ms Stonor said. “Together, we share a vision for a better world, one built on science-based education about how our food choices impact both our health and the environment. Through this partnership, we are committed to empowering individuals and communities to make informed decisions, thereby helping to create a healthier and more sustainable future for all.”
ECP Founder and CEO Lorena Mucke welcomed the collaboration.
“It is an honour to partner with Doctors for Nutrition, an impactful organisation,” Ms Mucke said. “Together we strengthen our shared mission: to turn science into action and bring evidence-based education to the world, equipping people to make informed choices, promote wellness, and extend health spans.”
The partnership adds momentum to both organisations’ efforts to promote health literacy and dietary empowerment through free, accessible education.
Doctors For Nutrition is an independent, registered health-promotion charity based in Australia. Founded by medical professionals, DFN aims to transform healthcare and public nutrition by sharing the power of whole food, plant-based diets. Through education, events and partnerships, DFN empowers people and practitioners with the tools to prevent and reverse chronic disease.
The Educated Choices Program is an award-winning global nonprofit that delivers free food literacy education to improve human and planetary health. Its resources have reached more than 3.6 million people across 67 countries.
