Understanding child safe standard 1:creating culturally safe environments

Under Victorian law, all organisations subject to the Child Safe Standards must meet the requirements of all 11 Standards. 

 

Standard 1 focuses on cultural safety, which means fostering environments of respect, understanding, and genuine inclusion based on a child’s cultural identity.

 

Embedding cultural safety is not just a legal obligation, it is a critical part of creating spaces where all children feel seen, valued, and protected.
