Eurobodalla secures NSW Government funding to boost FDC numbers

The town of Eurobodalla, on the New South Wales South Coast, will soon have more early childhood education and care (ECEC) options thanks to $140,000 in NSW Government funding to boost the number of Family Day Care (FDC) educators.
The funding will create up to 50 ECEC places in the coastal community, which currently has a waiting list of 115 children for its existing FDC options.
“While we don’t have stats on centre-based childcares facilities, we can share that Council’s Family Day Care service currently has 115 children on the wait list,” a spokesperson noted.
The Council has been calling for more support to boost the number of FDC operators in the community for some time, and welcomed the opportunity to continue to support FDC services and the educators who work within them through the additional funding.
Council supports the services and ensures educators meet national standards.
“That means more spots for kids while their parents are at work,” information from the Council noted.
“It’s not just about the kids – this will also help five people start their own small business at home. It’s a win-win!”
Those who are interested in offering FDC in the community have been invited to connect with the Children’s Services team by phone to (02) 4474 7333 or email: [email protected]
