Early learning services amongst Parents in Education funding recipients

Parents in Education (PiE) funding of between $1000 and $5000 has been made available for parent engagement projects, with the 22 successful applicants who will share in $83,000 worth of funding for parent-led projects in 2025 recently announced.
A number of early learning services have been named amongst the recipients.
The funding is for projects that demonstrate:
- empowerment of parents to develop strong and positive partnerships with schools and preschools
- parents and staff working together to make schools and preschools safer and more inclusive
- development of parent knowledge and skills on how to support their child to talk about their wellbeing, any safety concerns they have, and to ask for help when needed.
Applications for the 2026 school year will open in term 3 2025.
Successful early learning services in this year’s funding round are:
- Coromandel Valley Kindergarten – Children being heard: Creating a safe space where children share and families listen $5000
- Cummins Child Parent Centre – Partnership and Confidence: creating a shared understanding of child development and building confidence $4520
- Kirton Point Children’s Centre – The Art of Belonging $4000
- Ocean View College Children’s Centre – Me Time for grandparents and caregivers $3300
- Sturt Street Children’s Centre – Sturt Street Community Collective – $2800
Applications for the 2026 school year will open in term 3 2025. Applications can be made by:
- parents and carers
- parent or carer groups
- parent clubs
- school or preschool staff
- governing councils.
A school principal or preschool director must support the application. Each school or preschool can only apply once every year.
