Sanctuary Maudsland reaffirms Exceeding Rating under the National Quality Standard

Sanctuary Early Learning Adventure Maudsland has reaffirmed its Exceeding Rating following reassessment under Australia’s National Quality Standard, confirming the centre’s continued commitment to high-quality early childhood education and care.
The result reflects the consistency, professionalism and intentional practice embedded across the Maudsland team, and signals a standard of care and education that families in the Gold Coast community can rely on every day.
Early learning services across Australia are assessed against the National Quality Standard, which sets a national benchmark for education and care. An Exceeding Rating recognises practice that goes beyond the expected standard; encompassing strong educational programs, meaningful relationships with children and families, safe and supportive environments, effective leadership and a culture of continuous improvement.
Sanctuary Early Learning Adventure Operations Manager Michelle Tuffley said the result was a proud moment, but more importantly, a reflection of what families experience at the centre every single day.
“Maintaining an Exceeding Rating is not about one moment in time,” Ms Tuffley said.
“It reflects the consistent care, thinking, reflection and professionalism our Maudsland educators bring to children every day. This achievement belongs to them, they are passionate, thoughtful and deeply committed to creating an environment where children feel safe, heard and supported to explore.”
The rating follows years of intentional investment in educator development and leadership capability across Sanctuary Early Learning Adventure.
Sanctuary educators and leadership teams have participated in a professional learning journey with respected early childhood consultant Kelly Goodsir for the past three years, exploring responsive teaching practice, curriculum design, learning environments and the intentional decisions educators make each day.
Sanctuary is also in the second year of its ELEVATE Future Leaders Program; an internal leadership development initiative supporting emerging leaders and strengthening the future of early childhood leadership across its centres.
Ms Tuffley said the Maudsland result demonstrated the direct connection between educator growth and outcomes for children.
“Exceptional early learning begins with exceptional educators,” she said.
“When educators are supported to keep learning, reflecting and growing, children experience richer relationships, stronger programs and more meaningful learning every day.
At Sanctuary, professional development isn’t separate from quality care - it’s part of the foundation that creates it.”
The reaffirmed rating also acknowledges the strong partnerships Sanctuary Maudsland has built with the families it serves.
“Families are at the heart of everything we do,” Ms Tuffley said.
“This result reflects the trust, connection and collaboration that exists between our educators, our children and our families every day. We are grateful to every family who allows us to be part of their child’s journey.”
Sanctuary Early Learning Adventure Maudsland is located at 182 Maudsland Road and welcomes children from six weeks of age through to kindergarten.
