ELV Wimbi in Fawkner to host recruitment open days as Victoria expands early learning workforce

As Victoria progresses its Best Start, Best Life reforms, Early Learning Victoria (ELV) is inviting educators and early childhood teachers to explore new career opportunities at recruitment open days at ELV Wimbi on Wednesday 25 March, between 5:30pm and 8:30pm.
The Victorian Government’s investment in expanding high-quality early childhood education and care (ECEC) continues to gather pace, with new Early Learning Victoria centres opening across the state to support three- and four-year-old kindergarten reform.
As part of this rollout, ELV Wimbi will open its doors to prospective educators, teachers and service leaders at their recruitment open days, offering an opportunity to explore roles within the growing public provision model.
Located in Fawkner, Victoria, this centre form part of the state’s commitment to increasing access to high-quality kindergarten programs, particularly in regional communities.
Victoria’s Best Start, Best Life reforms are reshaping the ECEC landscape, with a staged transition to Pre-Prep set to deliver up to 30 hours of funded kindergarten per week to four-year-old children across the state.
Delivering on this reform requires a strong, sustainable workforce.
Early Learning Victoria centres have been established to deliver government-operated learning and complement existing services, expanding capacity in areas of need. In communities such as Portland South and Fawkner, recruitment initiatives play a critical role in attracting qualified educators and teachers to local roles.
The open day will provide attendees with the opportunity to:
- meet centre leadership and Early Learning Victoria representatives
- learn more about the Victorian Government’s kindergarten reforms
- explore available educator and early childhood teacher positions
- gain insight into employment conditions and professional support available within the ELV model.
The focus on workforce attraction aligns with broader national priorities under the National Quality Framework (NQF), which emphasises the importance of qualified, supported educators in delivering high-quality programs under the Education and Care Services National Law and Regulations.
The centre operate within the NQF, including compliance with the National Quality Standard (NQS) and are designed to provide inclusive, play-based programs led by degree-qualified early childhood teachers and diploma and certificate-qualified educators.
For professionals considering a move into a government-operated service, the open days provide an opportunity to understand how ELV’s operating model supports collaboration, professional development and curriculum delivery aligned with the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework.
Recruitment events such as the ELV Wimbi open days in Wimbi, aim to build local pathways into the profession by connecting jobseekers directly with employers and highlighting the long-term career opportunities available within early childhood education.
