ELV Barribina opens doors for educator recruitment open day

Early Learning Victoria (ELV) is continuing its focus on building a strong, skilled and community-connected early childhood workforce, with a recruitment open day scheduled at ELV Barribina in Teesdale on Monday 25 May from 6pm to 8pm.

The event will provide a welcoming opportunity for people interested in early childhood education and care (ECEC) to learn more about career pathways within the sector, including experienced educators, those considering a career change and community members who may be curious about working within this sector.

Attendees will have the opportunity to meet members of the ELV team, explore the Barribina learning environment and ask questions about available roles, training and development pathways and what it is like to work in a community-based early learning service.

The open day is designed to support real conversations about early childhood careers. For many people, speaking directly with educators and service leaders can offer a clearer understanding of the profession than a job advertisement alone.

ELV’s recruitment approach recognises that educators can come from a wide range of backgrounds. Skills developed in areas such as hospitality, health, retail, community services, parenting and other care-based roles may support a transition into early childhood education when paired with a genuine interest in children’s learning, wellbeing and development.

The Teesdale event will also highlight the training and support available through ELV, including induction, mentoring and pathways to formal early childhood qualifications.

With demand for early childhood educators continuing across Victoria, recruitment initiatives such as open days can play an important role in strengthening local workforces and supporting families to access early learning close to home.
