Camp Australia appoints Craig Napier as new CEO amid sector-wide leadership shifts
Camp Australia has announced the appointment of Craig Napier as its new Chief Executive Officer, marking a significant leadership transition at a time when many early childhood education and care (ECEC) organisations are undergoing similar changes across Australia.
Mr Napier brings a wealth of experience and a strong connection to the Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) sector, having previously led Junior Adventures Group through a period of sustained growth and sector engagement. His appointment reinforces Camp Australia’s strategic focus on quality, innovation and the ongoing development of programs that meet the evolving needs of children, families and school communities.
Over the coming month, Mr Napier will work in close collaboration with outgoing CEO Warren Jacobson and the Executive Team to ensure a smooth and well-managed transition. This approach reflects the organisation’s commitment to maintaining operational continuity and building on the foundations laid under Mr Jacobson’s leadership.
Camp Australia is one of the nation’s largest providers of OSHC services, delivering before and after school care and holiday programs across hundreds of locations. The appointment of Mr Napier is expected to bring renewed energy and vision to the organisation’s next chapter.
Mr Napier’s arrival comes at a time of broader change across the ECEC landscape. The close of the 2025 year has seen a notable number of leadership and board appointments, reflecting the sector’s ongoing evolution in response to workforce challenges, regulatory reforms and shifting policy priorities.
With the National Quality Framework and ongoing new Government policy continuing to shape service delivery and quality expectations, there appears to be activity within many providers re-evaluating their organisational structures to ensure they are best placed to deliver outcomes that align with the expectations of families and regulators alike.
Mr Napier is expected to play a pivotal role in leading the organisation’s next wave of strategic initiatives, including workforce development, service innovation and family engagement. His previous experience leading complex national operations will be key to navigating the dynamic challenges facing the sector.
