20-year milestone reflects career growth and leadership at G8 Education

From trainee to strategic lead, Paula Date’s 20-year journey at G8 Education exemplifies the potential for growth and long-term impact in early childhood education and care.
Paula Date has celebrated two decades with G8 Education, marking a professional journey that began as a trainee and has progressed to a leadership role at the organisation’s Support Office.
Throughout her career, Paula has earned multiple qualifications through G8 Education’s supported learning pathways, and worked across roles such as Educational Leader, Assistant Centre Manager, Centre Manager, and Area Manager. She now works as the Timekeeping and Continuous Improvement Lead in the Operations Team.
Paula said she has always felt supported and encouraged in every role she has held.
“I’ve felt encouraged and empowered in every role I’ve had here. It’s a very supportive environment,” she said.
Reflecting on her time with G8, Paula shared that professional development has always been encouraged and accessible.
“G8 Education has always supported my learning and growth. If you show interest in progressing, there are always opportunities,” she explained.
She credits the collaborative nature of her teams, past and present, with helping her strive for better outcomes for children across every role she has held.
G8 Education offers a suite of workforce development opportunities, including its Study Pathways Program, which provides structured training options for educators, as well as annual events such as the G8 Education National Conference. Educators are also encouraged to attend sector-wide events, such as the Early Childhood Australia National Conference, to stay connected with emerging trends and leadership.
The organisation’s newly launched purpose, to nurture the greatness in every child to grow, thrive, and learn, extends to its people as well. Paula’s long service is one example of how that vision is realised through career longevity and development.
G8 Education thanked Paula for her many contributions and reaffirmed its commitment to supporting her continued growth.
