Governor General Sam Mostyn AC announced as new patron of Royal Far West

Royal Far West has announced the appointment of Governor General Sam Mostyn AC (shown right) as its new patron.
Her Excellency the Honourable Ms Sam Mostyn AC brings with her not only extensive experience but also an unwavering commitment to social justice and equality, something which Royal Far West CEO Jacqui Emery said make her a wonderful addition.
“We are excited and honoured to welcome the Governor General as the new Patron of Royal Far West,” Ms Emery said.
“Her passion for social justice and equality aligns perfectly with our mission of improving the health and wellbeing of children who live in rural and remote communities.”
The announcement is especially significant for Royal Far West as it celebrates 100 years of service in 2025.
In commenting on the appointment Her Excellency said she was delighted to accept the invitation, describing the Royal Far West mission of improving the developmental and mental health outcomes of children in rural and remote Australia as being vitally important.
“Celebrating 100 years of service to country children and their families is a significant accomplishment,” she said.
“Education and healthcare are essential for children to flourish, and it is inspiring to see Royal Far West’s enduring impact over many years in helping country kids reach their full potential.”
Ms Emery said the organisation is ‘incredibly grateful’ for the Governor General’s support.
“We are looking forward to working together to make a meaningful difference in the lives of country children and their families,” she added.
The Governor General joins Her Excellency, Hon Margaret Beazley AC KC, Governor of NSW, as Joint Patron of Royal Far West.
