NSW early childhood teachers wanted for quality pilot l The Sector

A new research pilot is inviting early childhood teachers across New South Wales to help build a richer understanding of what quality teaching looks like within the realities of early education practice. Led by the Teachers in Early Education research team, the world-first pilot will explore how teacher quality is influenced by the environments, systems and conditions in which ECTs work.

Early Childhood Teachers (ECTs) play a vital role in delivering high-quality learning and development outcomes for young children. But we also know that “quality” does not sit with an individual teacher alone. It is shaped by the everyday realities of practice: access to professional learning, service type and location, staffing patterns, resources, leadership and organisational culture.

To better understand teacher quality in context, the Teachers in Early Education (TEE) research team is piloting a suite of tools designed to support new, practical insights into ECT quality in early education. This pilot aims to test a world-first approach to measuring teacher quality in context and we are seeking ECTs based in NSW to take part.

What will your participation contribute? The findings are intended to inform emerging work on national workforce and early years initiatives, as well as initial teacher education and teacher registration policy. In recognition of your time, participating ECTs will receive a $100 gratitude gift card on completion of the study.
