KKTC Education opens new office at Queen Street Village Southport

Registered training organisation KKTC Education has opened its new office in the Queen Street Village Southport, Queensland, marking the occasion with a special event.
Coinciding with Experience Gold Coast’s launch of its new offshore international student scheme (where eligible students can access a $1000 grant to put toward their education journey), the evening was a celebration of a shared commitment to advancing international education that aims to position the Gold Coast as Australia’s premier study destination.
The opening address was delivered by the Honourable Hermann Vorster, Assistant Minister for Multicultural Affairs & International Student Attraction, assuring attendees that “any issue or opportunity that Experience Gold Coast members were facing would be addressed proactively” through his office.
The Assistant Minister further highlighted the growing appeal of the Gold Coast as a thriving study destination and the vital role institutions like KKTC Education play in shaping the future of vocational training for international students.
His address was followed by a presentation by KKTC Educations’ CEO & Managing Director, Sam Hendry, who provided an overview of the Registered Training Organisation’s 12 year journey that has culminated in the opening of a new campus in Southport.
From starting with ‘a handful’ of students on the Gold Coast in 2013, KKTC currently trains in over 1200 long day care centres from “Cairns right down the Eastern seaboard to Adelaide,” he shared.
“The team you see here today are in childcare centres every day supporting that return to worker, sea changer, school leaver or semi term unemployed person getting back into the workforce,” he said.
“Outside of national security childcare is perhaps the number one issue on the political landscape and the ECEC sector is facing some strong head winds.”
“Currently there is a 21,000 shortfall of educators in the sector and with the increasing cost of living pressures and need for two working parents – childcare is the issue that will attract a lot of attention when we go to the polls in the next few months. Attracting more educators and delivering the highest standard of training in ECEC is critically important,” he said.
“KKTC is a Gold Coast success story. We have much to be proud of today. This is a landmark day for our training college with the opening of this amazing campus.”
