Algester World of Learning wins Free Kindy promotion award
Algester World of Learning, a G8 Education service, has won a Queensland specific award for having the best display to promote Free Kindy being available in the state.
G8 Education services across QLD were asked to create dynamic displays to promote the availability of Free Kindy in the state, presenting information for parents in a ‘colourful and joyful’ way that invited engagement and discussion.
Six regional winners were chosen from which Algester was dubbed ‘the best of the best.’
Special guest Deputy Director-General, Early Childhood, Tania Porter visited the centre on 15 February to present them with their prizes – a certificate of acknowledgement and some fabulous outdoor play resources that proved an instant hit with children, together with some teacher resources.
Ms Porter was joined by G8 Education’s CEO Pejman Okhovat, Chief Education and Learning Officer Alison Evans, regional manager Kylie Van Der Stok and the centre team to celebrate the special achievement.
Ms Van Der Stok said seeing the creative displays across QLD was a wonderful experience.
“It was really wonderful to see people engaged in creating these colourful spaces that encouraged conversations with families,” she said.
“For us, it’s a wonderful thing to be able to promote, and a way to start that dialogue so we can answer the questions families may have.”
Mr Okhovat was pleased to welcome Ms Porter to a G8 service, and to work alongside the Government to continue to promote the importance of early education.
“We welcome anything that helps more families access early education, and we continue to be hugely appreciative of our teams across all our centres, who provide interesting, fun and educational programs every day,” he said.
