Camp Australia to keep Big Art Event throughout the year
Outside school hours care provider Camp Australia has announced that it will offer the popular Big Art program throughout 2024.
Previously offered during the school holidays, Big Art saw over 30,000 children participating in over 115,000 sessions nationally across over 500 schools in a one-month campaign.
During Big Art children accessed “the ultimate social space” to unleash their creativity, growing through art and making colourful connections with friends.
In 2024, children across the country will be able to participate in three different Big Art events across Your OSHC After School Care and the Rocketeers School Holiday Program.
Big Art Fridays will see After School Care transform into a bustling art studio each Friday across the year, providing children a chance to get together with their friends and unleash their creativity through art forms from painting to creative writing, and everything in between.
As part of the Camp Australia Rocketeers school holiday programs, children will be immersed in a full day of diverse art activities, including exciting artistic excursions, to interactive workshops with experts, including art therapist Kerry Evitts.
“The feedback we have received from families on our Big Art Program has been tremendous so we are excited to roll-out this on a permanent basis in 2024,” Camp Australia CEO Warren Jacobson said.
“Art and creative expression are integral to children’s growth and development, and through Big Art we’ve seen a boost in creativity and imagination, critical thinking and problem solving and improved social connection.”
Each term, Camp Australia will run the Big Art Competition enabling children to showcase their artistic talents on a national stage. The Term 1 competition kicks off from 9 February to 1 March. Prizes for the Term 1 Big Art Competition includes two $250 major prizes and ten $100 minor prizes.
