$50,000 in funding for Macquarie Hills Community Preschool

Macquarie Hills Community Preschool will use a $50,000 grant, part of the NSW Government’s $37.2 million Local Small Commitments Allocation Program, to replace the retaining walls on the preschool’s grounds, literally and figuratively securing the future of the service.
“It will help extend the life of our preschool for many years to come, making it safe for our children, their families and staff,” Macquarie Hills Community Preschool management committee president Tami Hutchison shared with local news source Newcastle Weekly.
The Local Small Commitments Allocation Program was designated to enhance communities and provide $400,000 in benefits to people to each of the 93 NSW electorates.
It will consist of more than 600 projects, ranging from capital works, services and programs, events, supplies and equipment, charitable donations, and playground and park upgrades.
For local MP Jodie Harrison the announcement was a welcome one, with the preschool being considered “a beloved part of Cardiff South.”
“It offers a welcoming, caring place for children to begin their education journey,” she said.
“This grant will ensure that their premises will continue to be fit for purpose long into the future.”
The NSW Government committed funds to the program, which will help small projects and initiatives that strengthen communities and provide improvements at a local level, making NSW an even better place to live.
