The Wiggles help to promote Free Kindy during Wiggly Big Day Out tour
Children and families attending the Wiggly Big Day Out Tour in Cairns, Townsville, Mackay and Brisbane heard important information about Free Kindy thanks to iconic children’s group The Wiggles.
With more than 33,000 children and families in the collective audiences, the opportunity to partner with The Wiggles to share the message that kindy will be free for all eligible Queensland children in 2024 was too good for the Queensland Government to pass up.
“The countdown is on to free kindy and who better to help us share this fantastic message, than Australian children’s musical icons – The Wiggles?,” said Queensland Minister for Education Grace Grace.
“We know how important a great start at life is for children and it is great to see The Wiggles using their platform to ensure families have the information they need to enrol in free kindy.”
“This historic reform will see families save up to $4,600 per year and it’s important that all Queenslanders know kindy will be free, inclusive and accessible in 2024.”
As part of the Wiggles partnership, the Queensland Government has hosted Kindy Kiosks at each show, offering a photo opportunity and providing a space for families to ask questions about what kindy can offer their children.
“We’ve had a great time performing for families on the Wiggly Big Day Out Tour, and it has been fantastic to be able to partner with the Queensland Government to promote the important message that kindy is free for all families from 2024,” said Blue Wiggle Anthony Field.
“When we started The Wiggles, Murray, Greg and I were studying early childhood, so we understand that the early years of learning are so important and hope this partnership helps to encourage families to enrol in kindy.”
Families can learn more about kindy and use the Free Kindy Finder online tool to search for a free kindy location by searching ‘Free Kindy Queensland.’
