Pinewood Child and Family Hub wins Victorian School Design Award
Pinewood Child and Family Hub has won Best New Kindergarten or Early Learning Centre at the 2023 Victorian School Design Awards.
The 2023 Design Awards were open to architects and principal designers of Victorian Government school projects or Victorian Government funded kindergartens or early learning facilities, completed between June 2021 and June 2023.
Nestled beside natural parklands, the integrated early years centre opened in early 2023 and combines essential facilities for families under the one roof, including two kindergarten rooms, a community playgroup area, three rooms for Maternal and Child Health services and two additional consulting rooms which service the children and families of Monash Council.

The delivery of a project of this quality and community impact was designed by architecture firm AOA Christopher Peck, with the Victorian Government contributing $2 million to the $5.2 million redevelopment.
This is the second consecutive year that Monash has won in this award category, with Wellington Child and Family Hub winning in 2022.

A third child and family hub in Oakleigh South is under construction and scheduled for service delivery in early 2025, and projects are underway at Ashwood Memorial Kindergarten, Ward Avenue Kindergarten, Mount Waverley Preschool and the future Dorrington Child and Family Hub.
