ECEC Provider in Focus – Little Lights Christian Child Care Centre

Located in the Sydney suburb of Drummoyne, Little Lights Christian Child Care is a stand-alone long day care (LDC) service that educates and cares for children from two years of age to school age.
Service owner Michelle Constantine is also the Director, and a part owner in sister service Little Footprints Christian Child Care, where she has been working since 2006.
What is the history of Little Lights?
Ms Constantine has passionately strived to progress her career from a regular floor employee, into a room leader position, then to 2nd in charge, and finally to become the Executive Director of Little Footprints Pty Ltd.
“During my time in leadership, I was able to consistently achieve some of the highest ratings of ‘Exceeding’ from ACECQA for multiple branches of the company,” information on the website in relation to Ms Constantine noted.
“In 2012, Christ touched my life and I devoted all to Him including my work. Together with my family, I grew a passion to teach the children about the wonderful news of Jesus Christ. Due to this urging desire, we decided to transform our childcare centres into Christian childcare centres,” she said.
Where is Little Lights located?
Little Lights is located at 77 Tranmere St, Drummoyne NSW 2047.
What is Little Lights vision and approach to early learning?
Little Lights believes that children have been fearfully and wonderfully made in the image of God and therefore are precious and of infinite value, no matter their race, skin colour, gender, appearance, or religion.
Little Lights also believes that children are unique beings that have a high potential and capability of understanding, learning and achieving complex tasks. As such, the provider seeks to actively promote their learning through worthwhile challenging experiences and interactions that foster high-level thinking skills by creating meaningful and realistic learning opportunities that have been guided by the children’s interests, previous experiences, biblical teachings and the Early Years Learning Framework.
“We create opportunities for children to explore, create, discover, and imagine through a fun filled curriculum which will help them become advanced in their learning.”
“At Little Lights we see the importance in shaping and guiding the children to reach their fullest potential in all areas of their lives and to support them in finding their purpose in this world.”
