Former MasterChef contestants delight children at Community Kids Austral

Former MasterChef contestants and Coles Ambassadors Courtney Roulston and Michael Weldon paid a visit to Community Kids Early Learning Centre Austral recently, making shredded chicken salad with yoghurt dressing, and penne and meatballs.
The visit was in celebration of Coles for Business and G8 Education’s shopping partnership.
“Coles is committed to helping Australians live happier and healthier lives, and we’re proud to be doing just that through supplying G8 Education with all they need to fuel their 400+ early learning centres,” said Claire Pallot, Coles GM Digital Operations and Ventures.
The interactive session gave the children the opportunity to prepare the meals, and also to share them with their classmates at the end of the session.
“We are committed to providing nutritious food for the children in our care every day, as well as educating them on the importance of a balanced diet,” said Community Kids Centre Manager Donna Mills.
“Children are naturally curious, so they loved the opportunity to learn about how food is grown, how to cook it and then of course enjoyed the eating part too.”
Ms Mills hopes that by involving children in the process of preparing and cooking nutritious food, Community Kids will be able to positively impact their lifelong wellbeing.
