Laurie Begni announced as new CEO for Harmony Early Learning Journey
Gold Coast based early childhood education and care (ECEC) provider Harmony Early Learning Journey has announced the appointment of experienced senior leader Laurie Begni to the position of CEO, a role he commenced at the beginning of March.
Mr Begni succeeds former CEO Peter Warner who will relocate to Sydney to be with his family at the end of the month, having generously offered to spend the month of March with Mr Begni, supporting him to transition to his new role.
Harmony Directors Gabrielle and Chris Giufre emphasised the value they place on the relationship between Harmony and Mr Warner and anticipate future opportunities and collaborations.
Both Mrs and Mr Guifre said they are excited for Mr Begni to join the team, particularly as they have previously partnered with him in other business ventures.
“The combination of Mr Begni’s experience, culture and drive make him an ideal fit for Harmony and the next stages of growth,” the pair said.
“We are thrilled to welcome Mr Begni to the team, as he is a dynamic and respected leader whose authenticity, diversity, transparency and excellent values carry him through his professional and personal life.
“Although we were saddened to hear of Mr Warner’s departure from the Gold Coast and CEO role, we are grateful to still have him as part of the Harmony family,” they continued.
“Throughout Mr Warner’s tenure with Harmony, we have seen his leadership, energy, compassion, and professionalism set the business up on an incredible trajectory of success and transformation.”
In turn Mr Begni, who first met Mrs and Mr Giufre in 2017, said he is thankful to have had the opportunity to watch Harmony grow and develop under their leadership.
“It humbles me to have the opportunity to work with such a progressive industry (sic.) leader and I am energised and connected to the group’s guiding visions and values,” Mr Begni said.
“I am looking forward to getting to know the Harmony team as we help children on their journey of reaching their full potential and am excited by what can be achieved.”
Harmony Early Learning Journey currently operates 13 early learning centres across Southeast Queensland and Northern New South Wales with a further five sites in development. For further information about Harmony Early Learning Journey, visit the website, here.
