Safe Sleep Week is here: free PD for early learning services

Early learning services are invited to participate in Safe Sleep Week 2023 through a variety of online activities and resources, all of which are designed to raise awareness of sudden and unexpected death in infancy (including SIDS and fatal sleep accidents) and general safe sleep awareness.
Safe Sleep Week will be held from 6 to 12 March 2023, giving practical advice to parents, caregivers, educators and health professionals. Throughout the week, Red Nose will explore such topics as:
- Always sleep baby on their back
- Why baby’s head and face should be uncovered during sleep
- How to create a safe sleep environment
- How health professionals can better communicate with families around the Six Safe Sleep Guidelines
- Breastfeeding and its benefits.
For ECEC professionals, the webinar Why safe sleep is important and how the sector can prepare for changes to regulatory requirements is being offered on 9 March 2023. To register for the session, please see here.
Safe Sleep Week is proudly supported by Bonds, Sheridan and V-Tech. To learn more about Safe Sleep Week, visit the Red Nose website.
