Green Leaves Seaford Meadows receives AnglicareSA Child Friendly Business Award
Green Leaves Seaford Meadows was recently selected as a recipient of the 2022 Child Friendly Business Awards, which is part of AnglicareSA Onkaparinga Communities for Children initiative.
The awards recognise businesses in the City of Onkaparinga that support children and families by creating welcoming and respectful environments.
The centre was one of six to receive an Excellence Award for their personal approach to supporting families and children within the community. Nominated by a local family, AnglicareSA visits each nominee to verify the experience.
Speaking about the win centre Director Lynn, who has led the centre since its opening, said she was extremely proud of her team, noting the strength of the team “comes from the personal and genuine nature of the relationships we build with our families from day one.”
“For us, a strong relationship starts with great communication. We value feedback from our families, which helps us support them better. We see ourselves as an extension of the families we care for. We take time in researching information for families regarding additional support, learning and development, volunteering guidelines, school intake and parenting support groups. We’re with them through their journey – whether it’s celebrating successes or supporting them through hardship.”
Each team member is committed to being a valued member of the community, whether through supporting local events, participating in community art shows, or rallying for donation appeals.
As part of their regular excursion experiences, the Pre-Kindy children visit neighbouring businesses to share treats prepared by their in-house chef. While this is a great outing and gift, it also serves as an opportunity to extend on children’s interest to gain a greater understanding of occupations and unique services in the community.
One of the centre’s favourite features is their community trolley where families can borrow and exchange books and take home a range of produce grown in the centre’s edible garden.
