St Nicholas Raymond Terrace supports local service destroyed by fire

The educators, children and families at St Nicholas Early Education Raymond Terrace recently banded together, launching a child-driven initiative aimed at supporting Thou-Walla Family Centre–a local community-based centre which experienced a devastating fire that tore through the building, destroying many of the centre’s precious resources in the process.
St Nicholas Raymond Terrace hosts regular ‘children’s council’ meetings, which allows the children to have a say in the way they learn and operate at their centre. At their most recent meeting, the children’s educators asked how they could support Thou-Walla and the children suggested pulling together some resources to give to the children supported by Thou-Walla, so they could continue their learning while the centre rebuilds.
Each bag was lovingly put together, with handmade props, books, and other resources aimed at nurturing young children’s development.
A representative of Thou-Walla visited St Nick’s Raymond Terrace to collect the packs and thank the children personally.
