National Finalists announced in the 2022 Excellence in FDC Awards
The National Finalists in the 2022 Excellence in Family Day Care Awards have been chosen from more than 3,400 nominations received from parents, families, communities and the broader early childhood education and care (ECEC) sector.
Hannah Smith from Mid Coast Family Day Care (NSW) is the ACT/NSW educator finalist, joining Queensland-based Felicia Burridge from NQ Family Day Care as the NT/QLD finalist.
Rebecca Beattie from Nature Alliance Family Day Care (WA) is the SA/WA finalist, while Sue Higgs, from Adventure Patch Family Day Care (Tas) is the TAS/VIC finalist.
In the coordinator category, the following finalists were announced:
- ACT/NSW – Cindy Warren, Open Arms Family Day Care, New South Wales
- NT/QLD – Ricky Fazldeen, Marlin Coast Family Day Care, Queensland
- SA/WA – Michelle Richter, Northside Family Day Care, South Australia
- TAS/VIC – Kathi Hewitson, Foundations Family Day Care, Victoria.
Service finalists were:
- ACT/NSW – Early Years Care, New South Wales
- NT/QLD – Choices Family Day Care, Queensland
- SA/WA – Elite Family Day Care, Western Australia
- TAS/VIC – Adventure Patch Family Day Care, Tasmania.
This year’s National Finalists have each won a trip to the Family Day Care Australia (FDCA) 2022 National Conference Gala Dinner where they will take part in the 2022 Excellence in Family Day Care Awards national presentation.
FDCA congratulated the National Finalists for their ongoing commitment to excellence in the sector and for showcasing family day care as “the natural choice for high quality early childhood education and care”.
