Sixth time’s a charm for KU Children’s Services, long reigning employer of choice

KU Children’s Services has again been recognised as an Employer of Choice at The Australian Business Awards, the sixth consecutive year that the early childhood education and care (ECEC) provider has been given the prestigious honour.
The award recognises KU as a leading employer that has maximised the full potential of their workforce through established policies and practices that demonstrate effective employee recruitment, engagement and retention.KU was the first early education provider to win the award six years ago, and with over 2,000 employees across 130 services, has established itself as one of the leading employers in Australia's ECEC sector.
“As a sector leader, we recognise that our staff are our greatest assets and pride ourselves on our positive workplace culture that fosters innovation, recognises performance and provides development opportunities,” said CEO of KU Children’s Services, Ms Christine Legg.
“We work together to consistently achieve quality early education for children, and encourage others to work alongside us to help strengthen our commitment to ensuring that every child experiences high quality early education,” she added.
To secure the win, KU was required to demonstrate its achievements across the key areas of:
- Organisational Culture
- Leadership and Strategy
- Employee Education
- Training and Development
- Employee Health, Safety and Satisfaction
- Performance Management; and,
- Recognition and Remuneration.
The submission was then assessed through a rigorous and dynamic framework consisting of specialised assessment criteria and sub-criteria, enabling KU and other participating organisations to be benchmarked against world class performance standards.
