Kariong Public School partners with Coast Community Connections to build OSHC
A new outside school hours care (OSHC) service has been created at Kariong Public School, New South Wales, providing before and after school care options, as well as a vacation care service, thanks to a partnership between the school and Coast Community Connections.
The Before and After School Care service will be available every weekday from 6.30am to 9am, and 3pm to 6.30pm, with vacation care to commence during the April school holidays, available from 7am to 6.30pm.
A dedicated OSHC facility has been established on the school grounds, minimising the need for children to travel from the school grounds to access an OSHC service.
With the addition of Kariong Public, Coast Community Connections now operates one early learning service, four OSHC services and two vacation care services across the Central Coast of New South Wales.
Coast Community Connections CEO Bruce Davis said the organisation was pleased to be able to add a fourth location to the mix, alleviating some of the challenges faced by local communities when it comes to the accessibility and availability of care.
The not-for-profit provider has over 30 years of experience in children’s services programs, and “takes a holistic approach to its childcare services guided by the input, ideas and belief systems of the child, the family and the educator,” Mr Davis said.
“Our philosophy and programs are focused on fostering children’s wellbeing and development through recreational experiences and learning.”
