Bestchance to transition 36 services to YMCA Ballarat

Victoria-based not for profit early childhood education and care provider bestchance has confirmed that 36 of its kindergartens will be transitioned to YMCA Ballarat effective the beginning of Term One 2021.
The announcement comes seven months after the provider confirmed that it would be seeking to exit a portion of its early years management portfolio after an internal strategic review of operations had been completed.
Commenting CEO Chris Chronis said “Following a rigorous expression of interest and approval process by the Department of Education and Training in partnership with local Government, we are pleased to announce YMCA Ballarat as the successful service provider to transition 36 kindergarten services from bestchance effective from the commencement of Term 1 in 2021.”
“This is excellent news for children, families, communities and educators, ensuring the continuity of kindergarten services under the portfolio of an experienced and established provider.”
bestchance will continue to manage the remaining kindergarten services in its portfolio alongside its four long day care services and its family day care scheme.
YMCA Ballarat currently has a kindergarten network of around 47 services located across Victoria and as such is well positioned to take on the additional services.
With respect to the months ahead of the transition Mr Chronis noted “bestchance and YMCA Ballarat will be working together during the course of 2020 to ensure a smooth transition, along with clear and consistent communication with educators, families and other relevant stakeholders.”
