Horizon is bright with inclusion in Fortune’s Top 100 list
Multinational early childhood education and care (ECEC) provider, Bright Horizons, has been named as one of the top 100 companies to work for for the 18th time, having again secured a position on the Fortune 2019 list of “100 Best Companies to Work For”.
The company has the distinction of being the only ECEC provider to make the list. It operates over 1,000 ECEC sites, caring for over 100,000 children annually in the United States, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Canada and India, providing full service and back-up childcare, elder care, tuition program management, education advising, and student loan repayment programs to employees of more than 1,100 employers.
Stephen Kramer, Bright Horizons CEO, said that whilst the public recognition of the company’s culture makes him proud, he was “prouder still” that the honour comes as a direct result of feedback from employees.
“We are a great company because our employees care about each other, believe in our mission and culture, and create inclusive workplaces that celebrate diversity. That is what makes Bright Horizons a great place to work for and to work with,” Mr Kramer said.
To receive the award, employees responded to over 60 survey questions, describing the extent to which their organisation creates “a great place to work for all”.
85 per cent of the evaluation for the award is based on what employees report about working for their organisation, discussing factors such as their experiences of trust and the opportunity to reach their full potential. Their responses were then analysed against the size, workforce make-up, and typical results in their industry, sector and regions, to ensure the results were balanced and consistent.
