Prominent program switches children into school mode

The first day of school can be daunting for many young children, however one Queensland-based organisation is putting children, parents and educators at ease as the premier providers of a game-changing program.
Queensland Childcare Services (QCCS) are proudly delivering the Reboot Program in early childhood education Australia-wide, implementing the unique framework designed to improve the emotional and social development of educators, parents and children through hands-on resources and structures.
Reboot’s tools and strategies, developed by Rebooting Life’s director Sarah Ralston, are currently being used in over 900 schools across Australia and are backed by over 15 years of research and results.
Reboot’s new Early Childhood Program delivers whole-brain trauma-informed group and individual strategies to support optimal child development.
QCCS General Manager Laura Faalili said the program has become integral to QCCS’ approach to school readiness and improving self-confidence in their 24 centres across Queensland.
“The tailored nature of the framework accommodates to any individual whether it’s a child, educator or parent,” Ms Faalili said.
“The Reboot Program isn’t just one activity, but a whole comprehensive framework designed to aid individuals in the classroom and beyond,” Ms Faalili said.
According to Queensland Curriculum & Assessment Authority’s Wellbeing: Learning and development area (QKLG 2024), children develop positive wellbeing through an establishment of safe and respectful strategies tailored to them.
These strategies build confidence, optimism, growth mindset and positive attitudes towards learning. 1
Ms Faalili said the Reboot Program also helped parents and educators to implement successfully proven strategies and practices to provide deeper aid for kids.
“As Reboot teaches children to recognise personal behaviours and focus on mental wellbeing, it also helps educators and parents to approach difficult situations with the appropriate care and support for the child.”
“Many say being a parent is the hardest job, and Reboot is helping the whole QCCS community learn the small steps one can take to achieve the greatest personal difference,” Ms Faalili said,
QCCS have incorporated numerous unique initiatives in their day-to-day curriculum that contribute to building a positive connection with the community including Intergenerational Play, Beach and Bush Kindy and the Healthy Bodies program.
