Step into the exciting world of computer science in this practical, screen-free workshop designed to help early childhood educators build confidence in teaching core computational thinking concepts.

Presented by Little Scientists and supported by the NT Department of Education, this free session introduces key computer science principles through playful, hands-on activities and features the use of Bee-Bots as learning tools for young children.

What to expect

  • Explore how to teach algorithms, sequencing and sorting without a computer

  • Discover ways to bring computer science into everyday early learning practice

  • Gain practical knowledge of how Bee-Bots can support EYLF outcomes

  • Learn to foster children’s natural curiosity in a digital world

Key activities

  • Dress up and act like a robot to simulate algorithms

  • Build and debug code using physical games and storytelling

  • Use everyday activities to introduce computational thinking

  • Explore key differences between computer science and IT

Who should attend

This session is suitable for all early childhood educators and teachers. No prior STEM or coding knowledge is required.
