On 4 November 20 IEU early childhood members have been invited to attend a Reality Round Table with the new Federal Minister for Early Childhood Education Dr Anne Aly.

The union has designed the round table to ensure the Minister is fully appraised of the reality of wages and workloads in our sector.

The aim is to progress the push for industry-wide bargaining in our sector, the only route to higher wages. We also want to suggest how the Minister could help reduce the heavy workloads so many early childhood education teachers face.

The round table allows for the sharing of information and learning between the Minister, union officials and early childhood teachers, with the aim of getting action from the Federal Government.
