An invitation to play: evolving pedagogy through the arts

When you join us for this event you are warmly welcomed to engage in any of the following:

 

• A 45-minute hands on arts workshop with artist, teacher and lecturer Al Ohlsen. Al will support your pedagogy and practice for innovative learning opportunities in the visual arts with young children (you need to register and book for the workshop).

 

• Guided tour of Red Hill’s Indigenous Garden

 

• Playful pedagogy time in the beautiful outdoor spaces with lots of creative loose parts

 

• Experience the Red Hill indoors environments and read about the Reggio inspired nature of the classrooms

 

Participants will register to attend the workshop with Al at either 2:00pm or 3:00pm, and are welcome to explore our Red Hill environments, network and chat for the remainder of the session. Centre Director Renee Mitchell and ECT Program Manager Adele will be available for conversations with participants during this time.

 

The workshop will lead you on an exploratory journey of Visual Artmaking, encouraging you to 'see' creative potential in less conventional materials. We will explore evolving process-making, creating unique Visual and Media Artworks. Throughout our making we will develop skills in arts practice, arts language, reflection and responding, as you might with young children.
