NSW Early Learning Commission launches new website

The NSW Early Learning Commission has launched a new landing page within the NSW Government website, marking the beginning of a staged transition to a new digital home for early childhood education and care regulatory information in NSW.
The new page is now live on nsw.gov.au, with remaining content, resources and guidance expected to move across progressively throughout 2026. The Commission said the transition is designed to make it easier for services, providers, educators and families to find information and resources.
The NSW Early Learning Commission is the independent regulator for early childhood education and care in NSW and oversees more than 6,000 services across the state. Its role includes regulating services to ensure they meet safety, quality and compliance requirements, with children’s safety, wellbeing, rights and best interests placed at the centre of its work.
What is changing?
The new landing page will become a central access point for information about the Commission, including guidance for parents and carers, services, providers and educators.
Current links on the new page direct users to key areas such as child safety reforms, regulatory data, enforcement actions, complaints and feedback, assessment and rating information, notification requirements and sector updates.
Until all content is moved across, services can continue to access resources and guidance through the NSW Department of Education website.
Redirect links will be used to help direct users to the correct location during the transition.
What ECEC services should do now
The transition will take place gradually, so services do not need to make immediate wholesale changes to policies or communications.
However, approved providers, nominated supervisors and service leaders may wish to begin reviewing where old links are used across:
- service websites
- family handbooks
- enrolment packs
- policy documents
- staff induction materials
- compliance checklists
- newsletters and family communications
As individual pages and resources move across to nsw.gov.au, services should update bookmarked links and internal documents to ensure staff and families are being directed to the most current source of information.
Why it matters
For ECEC services, easy access to accurate regulatory information is critical.
The Commission’s website is a key reference point for child safety guidance, notification requirements, compliance and enforcement information, assessment and rating, sector updates and provider obligations.
The new website also creates a more visible public entry point for families, who are increasingly being encouraged to understand how services are monitored, regulated and held accountable.
The Commission’s new landing page includes information for parents and carers about what to look for in a quality service, child safety, and how services are monitored, regulated and rated.
A staged move across 2026
The launch of the new landing page is the first step in a broader website transition.
While the move is underway, services should continue to use existing Department of Education links where relevant, monitor the new Commission page for updates, and update saved links as content is migrated.
