Free World Teachers’ Day resources help services celebrate early childhood teachers

Early childhood services can use free resources and simple activities to recognise teachers on World Teachers’ Day, which Australia will mark on Friday 30 October.
Campaign recognises teachers’ contribution
Australia’s 2026 World Teachers’ Day campaign is inviting communities to “Shine a light on teachers” who inspire, support and empower children and young people.
The Australian Institute for Teaching and School Leadership (AITSL) encourages leaders to plan celebrations in schools and early childhood settings. Suggested activities include morning teas and involving families in sharing messages, photos and stories about teachers.
The recognition applies to early childhood teachers as well as school teachers.
Free resources support service celebrations
AITSL’s free celebration kit offers services, practical resources and ideas. It includes posters, thank-you cards, certificates, editable templates, social media tiles, banners, newsletter copy, photo props, an email signature and a meeting background.
Services may like to display the official poster, invite children and families to contribute messages, hold a team morning tea or share a story about an early childhood teacher’s contribution. Activities can be adapted for children’s ages and for individual services.
Social media posts can use #WorldTeachersDay2026 and tag @aitsl.
