Australian-first program invests up to $3 million into Logan community

Community leaders have come together to celebrate a new health and wellbeing program valued at up to $3 million, launched today in Logan, Queensland with a mission to increase quality of life, physical activity and access to nourishing food for children in the growing region.
Over the next three years, Logan Together will receive up to $3 million in funding to co-deliver the FEEL GOOD FUTURES Logan program, in collaboration with the Logan community.
Logan is one of Queensland’s fastest growing regions, home to an estimated 392,339 people in 2024 and projected to exceed 500,000 residents by 20361. This rapid growth intensifies pressure on families already facing challenges, including limited access to healthy food, an issue reflected nationally, where 13.2 per cent of households experience food insecurity. These factors highlight the need for community-driven programs that support children’s health and wellbeing.
Logan Together Executive Director, Michelle Lucas, said Logan is one of the fastest growing regions in Queensland and the program will support the community’s aim that Logan’s children are happy and healthy now, and for generations to come.
“This is a significant investment into our community’s wellbeing and an incredibly rare and valuable opportunity for our community to be directly involved in meaningful action to help every child in Logan thrive,” Ms Lucas said.
“FEEL GOOD FUTURES will be underpinned by the community-led approach to wellbeing in Logan and is focused on delivering impactful and sustainable change, so while we’ll be working closely with school aged children, the solutions will also support the wider community now and into the future.”
The initiative is funded by Novo Nordisk through its Cities for Better Health program, which takes a unique preventative approach to defeating serious chronic diseases, working in partnership with over 50 cities around the world to encourage healthier urban living and more play time for children.
Novo Nordisk Oceania Senior Medical Director, Dr Ana Svensson said: “As a global leader in chronic disease management, we understand that prevention and early intervention are essential to building healthier futures. FEEL GOOD FUTURES Logan will offer children and families in Logan the support they need to form long-term healthy habits.
This initiative is grounded in global evidence and shaped locally through co-design, ensuring the solutions delivered in Community Hubs truly reflect the needs of Logan families. By partnering with Logan Together and local leaders, we’re investing in changes that will continue to benefit the community well beyond the first three years."

The announcement comes at a time when 96 per cent of Australian children are not meeting the daily fruit and vegetable recommendations, and only one in four meet the recommended daily physical activity guidelines.
FEEL GOOD FUTURES Logan is the Australian implementation of Novo Nordisk’s global Cities for Better Health (CBH) Childhood Obesity Prevention Initiative (COPI), which sees six cities across six countries prioritise cross-sector collaborations with the goal of promoting health and overall wellbeing among children and youth.
