Queensland Childcare Services (QCCS) honour industry leading staff milestones, including a 34-year commitment to delivering top-tier early childhood education services.

Since 1991, QCCS has expanded to operating 24 services across Southeast Queensland and employed over 800 staff with 65% being long serving staff members, including 11 centre directors celebrating milestones over a decade long.

QCCS General Manager Laura Faalili who celebrated her 20-year milestone as an educator said the organisation’s commitment to ongoing learning, innovation and quality practice has pushed continual growth not only for QCCS, but herself.

“Being surrounded by strong mentors, supportive leaders, and a culture that values reflection has helped me evolve into a more confident, knowledgeable, and adaptable General Manager,” Ms Faalili said.

“Our ideas, programs, and changes come directly from our teams, and having these levels of trust and collaboration has further strengthened QCCS.

“I have loved seeing children attend Nursery, then grow through the years to graduate Kindy and head off to school. It is even more special, watching many of them later graduate high school and still share their milestones with us.”

Research from Queensland Government Early Childhood Education and Care found educators that prioritise nurturing relationships and consistent emotional support helps children develop necessary skills to interact positively with others.

Ms Faalili said QCCS display a strong commitment to child centred initiatives that focus on emotional intelligence, and offer abundant learning opportunities like the Reboot, Bush, Beach and Farm Kindy programs.

“These unique experiences enrich learning, build confidence, strengthen community connections and reflect QCCS’s commitment to provide opportunities that go far beyond traditional early education,” she said.

“It’s so uplifting to be part of a company that prioritises children’s wellbeing, supports team growth, and continuously strives to evolve in ways that benefits our services and the communities we serve.”

QCCS celebrated Ms Faalili’s 20-year milestone at the annual End of Year Awards night alongside other educators that received special awards. These included ‘Company Person of the Year’ and ‘Outstanding Work Ethic’ awards which display ongoing commitment to improving standards of early childcare education.

“I was blown away at the End of Year Awards Night, they managed to surprise me with a special award, and a heartfelt presentation,” Ms Faalili said.

As QCCS continues to evolve, Ms Faalili’s milestone is a testament to the lasting impact industry leading educators matched with a child-focused curriculum have on students and communities across Southeast Queensland.
