Four new kindergartens to open in Greater Geelong in Term 1 2026
Families in the City of Greater Geelong can lodge expressions of interest for four new kindergartens scheduled to open in Term 1, 2026, expanding local access to sessional kindergarten as communities continue to grow.
Expressions of interest are open for:
- Biyala Primary School Kindergarten (Armstrong Creek)
- Biyala Community Hub Kindergarten (Armstrong Creek)
- Marshalltown Road Kindergarten (Grovedale)
- Oberon Kindergarten (Belmont)
KU Children’s Services has been named as operator for Biyala Primary School Kindergarten and Biyala Community Hub Kindergarten, following the City of Greater Geelong’s open tender process.
Gowrie Victoria to deliver services at Marshalltown Road Kindergarten (66 places) and Oberon Kindergarten (99 places), described as Gowrie Victoria’s first services in the Greater Geelong region.
All four kindergartens are set to offer free sessional programs for three- and four-year-old children and are located at primary school sites, supporting access and transitions into school settings for many families.
Greater Geelong Mayor Stretch Kontelj OAM said the arrival of two experienced providers would “further strengthen Greater Geelong’s early years services,” as outlined in a recent council announcement.
Christine Legg, CEO of KU Children’s Services, expressed excitement at introducing KU’s programs to the Armstrong Creek community and thanked partners including the Victorian Department of Education and the Victorian School Building Authority for their support.
Gowrie Victoria CEO Karen Weston said the organisation looks forward to working with the Geelong community to deliver early learning environments where children can “imagine, create and discover.”
