G8 Education, a leading provider of quality early learning education and care, is proud to be part of a  landmark initiative to reshape Australia’s care economy, joining 55 other partners in the newly  launched Care Economy Cooperative Research Centre (CRC).

This ten-year, $129 million program aims to transform the $327 billion care economy, which delivers  essential services from birth to end-of-life, including early childhood education and care.

The Care Economy CRC, headquartered at La Trobe University, brings together universities, health  agencies, technology companies, and care providers to tackle some of the sector’s biggest challenges:  rising demand, workforce shortages, and the need for technology-driven solutions that improve  quality and safety of care.

G8 Education’s Chief Education and Learning Officer Ali Evans said as one of Australia’s largest early  childhood education providers, G8 Education plays a critical role in ensuring families can access high quality care that enhances children’s learning, development and wellbeing.

“By partnering in this national initiative, G8 Education will help co-design and implement innovative  solutions that enhance care quality and safety through possible exploration of technology and data  integration, as well as collaborate to support workforce development and training. This initiative  enables cross disciplinary thinking to consider what will make a difference for now and the future in  relation to innovation and responding to changing societal trends,” Ms Evans said.

“We are excited to collaborate and contribute to this transformative program. By collaborating with  leading researchers and care providers, we can ensure our sector is equipped to meet future  challenges shaping the early childhood profession to deliver the best outcomes for children and  families.”
