Daniel Carceles joins Only About Children to lead operational excellence across national network

Daniel Carceles has joined Only About Children as Executive Director, Operational Excellence, bringing deep expertise in transformation and innovation to one of Australia’s most established early childhood education and care (ECEC) providers.
With a career spanning global and regional service delivery, Mr Carceles is widely recognised for his ability to lead teams through complex change while improving long-term outcomes for children, families and educators.
Prior to joining Only About Children in 2025, Mr Carceles held senior leadership roles including Chief Operating Officer and Chief Transformation Officer, where he led large-scale programs focused on efficiency, cultural alignment and service experience. His approach emphasises lasting value and human-centred design a foundation that aligns strongly with the priorities of the ECEC sector.
“I believe early learning should embrace the whole family, not just the child,” Mr Carceles says. “When parents are heard, valued and truly engaged as partners, we create the strongest foundation for every child to thrive and reach their full potential.”
At Only About Children, he leads the Operational Excellence portfolio, a critical function focused on enhancing service delivery, uplifting quality, and enabling consistent, high-performing practice across the organisation’s national network of campuses.
In addition to his operational credentials, Mr Carceles is passionate about mentoring and leadership development. He has supported emerging leaders through the University of New South Wales’ AGSM Business School and worked with Generation Australia to guide young professionals in their career pathways.
Only About Children welcomed his appointment as a strategic move to strengthen operational capability, innovation and sector impact at a time of significant change and opportunity in early education.
