World Teachers’ Day awards open in the NT

Nominations for the World Teachers’ Day (WTD) NT Awards are now open, seeking inspirational educators, principals, leaders and support staff working across the Northern Territory Government schools and early learning settings.
Formerly known as the Teaching in the Territory Excellence Awards, and now in their 20th year, the awards shine a light on innovative leaders driving excellence, passionate teachers inspiring young people, and talented specialists and support staff working hard behind the scenes.
There are nine award categories including:
- Principal of the Year Leader of the Year
- Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander of the Year
- Inclusion Educator of the Year
- Corporate Based Support Person of the Year
- Early Childhood Educator of the Year
- Primary Educator of the Year
- School Based Support Person of the Year
- Secondary Educator of the Year.
Finalists and overall winners of each category will be announced and celebrated at World Teachers’ Day events held in Darwin, Alice Springs, Katherine, Nhulunbuy and Tennant Creek on Friday 31 October.
