ECEC Owners and Landlords Forum postponed as Cyclone Alfred bears down on Brisbane

The early childhood education and care (ECEC) sector’s inaugural ECEC Owners and Landlords Forum, initially planned to kick off this Friday, 7 March, has been postponed to 28 March 2025 as fears of the likely trajectory and impact of Cyclone Alfred build.
Cyclone Alfred is the largest cyclonic weather system to potentially hit South East Queensland in decades and preparations to ensure communities across the region will be safe, as and when it hits ground, are well under way.
“In light of updates from the Bureau of Meteorology (BOM) it is clear that Cyclone Alfred could well be a once in a generation weather event that would be a serious risk to citizens up and down Queensland’s coast,” Jason Roberts, Founder of The Sector said.
“Given that so many of our panelists and delegates were flying in from other states and territories we felt that we had to move early with a decision to give them all the appropriate time to make arrangements to reschedule.”
“That is why we made the call so early and thus far it certainly feels like we did the right thing.”
The Sector team have moved quickly to re-secure the venue in Brisbane for 28 March 2025 with all other details, including the program, set to be exactly the same.
“We have been very fortunate that the venue is available on 28 March 2025 and amazingly we are able to commit to the same program as well,” Mr Roberts added.
“Although we appreciate that the new date may not suit all existing delegates, we are encouraged by the feedback so far that the excitement around the event is still very much intact.”
