Melton City Council’s Kindergarten Readiness Month

Melton City Council is holding online information sessions and an open week during February and March to help families to be ready for 3- or 4-year-old kindergarten in 2026.
The Readiness Month has been designed to provide parents with information about the registration process and the chance to tour kindergarten facilities in the region. Online information sessions will be held on:
- Tuesday, 18 February, 6.30pm.
- Thursday, 20 February, 12.30pm.
Open week will run from 11-13 March. Families are invited to come and explore kindergartens, meet the teachers and ask questions to help decide if it’s the best fit for their child.
Registrations for kindergarten in 2026 will then open on Wednesday, 19 March.
“Starting kinder is a big step for families and we are here to help you prepare for the transition and to choose an option that best suits your child,” City of Melton Mayor Cr Steve Abboushi said.
“The preschool years are so important for laying the foundations for school, and I’m proud to say that Council has 27 wonderful kindergarten facilities for families in the City of Melton.”
To register for the online sessions, or to find out more about the open days and registration process, visit melton.vic.gov.au/kindergarten or call on (03) 9747 7284.
