Greater Shepparton City Council hosts ECEC recruitment event

The Greater Shepparton City Council recently held a recruitment event, the second of its kind, designed to showcase the many opportunities to be found in working in the early childhood education and care (ECEC) sector.
The Empowering Early Years Recruitment Day was held Wednesday 23 October 2024 at the McIntosh Centre in Shepparton, and was well attended, with 44 potential professionals engaging with Council staff about career opportunities in ECEC.
Attendees benefited from the relaxed atmosphere which simplified the application process, making the sector more accessible to aspiring educators, recent graduates, and career changers eager to enter the early childhood sector.
Greater Shepparton City Council Manager Early Years Operations and Reform, Stacey East, was excited by the success of the event, and pleased with the feedback given from those who attended.
“We are excited to welcome passionate individuals to our team,” she said. “The strong interest shows the community’s commitment to supporting our youngest residents and their families.”
A highlight of the day was the informal conversation between potential educators and Council staff, which contributed to the overall atmosphere.
Attendees praised the event for its supportive atmosphere and said they appreciated the valuable insights shared by Council staff to assist them in developing their career.
Those who missed the recruitment day, but who are interested in a career in ECEC, and who live in (or are willing to relocate to) the Shepparton area are invited to email [email protected] to learn more.
