Zero to Four Family Support Service named as finalist in Mental Health Awards

Zero to Four Family Support Service has been named as the Early Years Award finalist in the 2024 Queensland Mental Health Awards.
The service recruits and trains volunteers to support families with young children, focusing on mental health, early childhood development, and preventing re-entry into the child protection system.Through playgroups and mentoring, the program improves parenting confidence and child wellbeing.
Zero to Four is one of several finalists named in the Awards, which recognise outstanding individuals, organisations, and initiatives that have made significant contributions to improving mental health outcomes across Queensland.
Chosen from a robust pool of nominations, the finalists exemplify excellence in promoting mental health, reducing stigma, and supporting those living with mental illness.
“The Queensland Mental Health Week Achievement Awards are the state’s premier event dedicated to acknowledging the extraordinary efforts of those who make a real difference in the mental health sector,” Karen Hale-Robinson, Acting CEO of Open Minds said.
“We are incredibly proud of the high calibre of this year’s nominations. Each finalist demonstrates an unwavering commitment to advancing mental health services and advocacy. These awards not only celebrate their remarkable achievements but also highlight the collective progress we are making in this vital field.”
The winners in each of the 11 award categories will be announced at the Awards breakfast ceremony on Friday, October 11, at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre.
This event will spotlight the often-unsung heroes within the mental health community and foster continued efforts to enhance mental health support throughout Queensland.
Winners in each category will receive $500 in prize money, and the overall winner will be honoured with the Earle Duus Memorial Award sponsored by Queensland Mental Health Commission, which includes a $4,000 prize.
