Junior Landcare is hosting a free professional development opportunity for early childhood education and care (ECEC) professionals who are passionate about taking learning outdoors using First Nations Perspectives.

Taking learning outdoors using First Nations Perspectives will be held 16 September at 4pm,and will feature Junior Landcare Ambassador Costa Georgiadis, Wiradjuri man and First Nations Educator Adam Shipp and Environmental Educator Sam Harrison, each of whom will present practical tips and ideas of how to inspire children through a First Nations lens to learn about the incredible nature on their doorsteps.

Timed to take place during Biodiversity Month (September), the webinar promises to be ‘jam-packed’ with advice and culturally respectful approaches covering everything from observing and engaging with local habitats and biodiversity to exploring First Nations weather knowledge.

Adam and Sam will guide educators through the essentials of taking learning outdoors with First Nations perspectives projects, along with perspectives from Costa.

“We’re really excited to host this session with Adam, Sam and Costa,” Junior Landcare spokesperson Trish O’Gorman said.

“It’s a wonderful opportunity to support educators to integrate First Nations perspectives in their outdoor learning and create impactful and engaging environmental educational experiences.”

Educators who participate in the webinar will receive a Professional Development Certificate. For more information or to register please see here
