ELAA appoints Terri Smith as interim CEO
Terri Smith has been appointed as the interim CEO of the Early Learning Association Australia (ELAA) whilst its Board continues the recruitment process for a permanent CEO.
Ms Smith has a 20-year strong background in the not-for-profit sector, having previously served as CEO of BreastScreen Victoria, PANDA (Perinatal Anxiety and Depression Australia), and Optometry Victoria.
“It has been a pleasure to step into this role,” Ms Smith said. “Over the past week I’ve had the chance to participate in a range of meetings with both members and our external partners and it is clear ELAA has an active and respected leadership role in the early childhood sector. Rest assured our members’ needs are always ELAA’s number one focus.”
During her time with ELAA, Ms Smith has “hit the ground running” and is keen to maintain the momentum around ELAA’s core work of supporting members to deliver quality early childhood education and care (ECEC) as well as ELAA’s advocacy to government on matters of ECEC policy.
Ms Smith has been in contact with key government connections at both state and federal levels to let them know it is ‘business as usual’ at ELAA.
