Greater Shepparton will host Early Years recruitment day to drive up numbers
Greater Shepparton City Council will host a recruitment day event on Wednesday 6 September 2023 with the intention of “making the job application process easier, quicker, and more accessible for those interested in the rewarding career of early childhood education”.
The ‘Empowering Early Years’ recruitment day will offer an inclusive and relaxed environment for interested candidates to apply for roles through informal conversations with Council staff, with morning (9:30 am) and afternoon (1:30 pm) sessions to be held at the McIntosh Centre in Shepparton.
Sally Rose, the Council’s Manager of Early Years is looking forward to chatting with potential early childhood employees, and assisting them with the job hunting process.
“Our Early Years Department plays a crucial role in nurturing Greater Shepparton’s next generation. These positions aren’t just jobs, they’re opportunities to make a real impact on children’s lives,” she said.
“Whether you’re a seasoned professional, a recent graduate, transitioning to retirement, or looking for a career change, we have a place for you in our Early Years Department. The event will offer an informal, pressure free and interactive environment.”
“Our team is excited to meet potential candidates in person, to hear their stories and passions, and to match them with the right roles.”
For educator Caitlyn Menzie, working in the early years sector is an extremely rewarding option, and one which she thoroughly enjoys.
“Every day we have the chance to make a difference in a child’s life, to support their development, and to create a positive and nurturing environment for them to grow. I strongly encourage anyone interested in this field to attend the recruitment day and take your next step towards a fulfilling career,” Ms Menzie said.
There will be a variety of roles within Council’s Early Years Department on offer during the event, including positions at long day care, three- and four-year-old kindergarten, and occasional care.
Council looks forward to the recruitment initiative bringing a fresh wave of dedicated and passionate individuals to its Early Years Department, and invites everyone interested to register for one of two sessions via their website.
