Goodstart Early Learning, Australia’s largest not for profit provider of early learning and care, has announced the appointment of Jason Renshaw as the organisation’s first Chief Culture Officer (People, Learning and Experience).

Mr Renshaw joined Goodstart in 2020 as its Chief Learning Officer, the first such appointment for the group, and one which was designed to drive a greater degree of alignment between the development of its workforce and its overarching strategic and organisational objectives.

Since then Mr Renshaw has worked to support Goodstart’s centre and centre support teams to ensure workplace learning is woven through everything that they do.

“Jason has transformed our approach to leadership and learning and we are very excited that he has agreed to take on additional responsibilities in this new role,” Goodstart’s CEO Julia Davison said.

“The way we learn, lead and work are a vital part of our culture and as our Chief Culture Officer Jason will bring people, learning and experience together.”

Ms Davison added that Goodstart is a learning organisation and that they take adult learning as seriously as they take children’s learning and that in his expanded role Mr Renshaw will focus on the way they work, the way they lead and the way they learn.

Jason said he was thrilled to be a part of the on-going cultural change movement in Goodstart which at its heart will ensure that every Centre Director is able to lead their teams in a dynamic and highly individualised way.

“As Chief Culture Officer I will be working to provide every Goodstarter with the support they need as we continue our change journey,” Mr Renshaw said.

“As individuals learn, then organisations learn and develop. I am looking forward to working with the talented and committed People, Learning and Experience teams to ensure every Goodstarter is equipped with the skills and support they need to continue to provide the high quality early learning every child deserves.”

Mr Jason’s new role builds on the foundations of the work done by former Chief Experience Officer, Tracey McFarland who left Goodstart in July 2022.
